As a language exercise, I picked a Swahili pop song that I like and attempted to transcribe the lyrics and learn to sing it. The Swahili lyrics are below as well as my attempted English translation. Mbagala is an impoverished district on the outskirts of the Tanzanian city Dar Es Salaam. I might have made some mistakes in the transcription or translation, so kama wewe ni Mswahili na unalo shauri lolote kuhusu maneno au tafsiri, niambie!
